Jesus: “In Portugal I could play with 11 Brazilians, here it’s different”

Jorge Jesus left his Turkish league debut with a yellow smile.

O Fenerbahçe scored the equalizer in stoppage time of the match with Umraniyespor, but was not in time to claim victory.

After the match, the former Portuguese coach of Benfica greeted the opponent and lamented the fatigue of some of his players, after a Europa League meeting in midweek.

“Usually my teams are strong in defence, but here we can’t be. We must pay tribute to our adversary. We couldn’t do what we wanted on the pitch. We lost two points, but we will always continue to believe in it. We tried to bet on fresh players, but we saw the reflection of the fatigue of the European game in some players, ”he summarized.

Jesus also spoke about the rule which always has three Turkish players at home, assuming he is still adjusting.

“I adapt, but that conditions and complicates the choice of replacements. In Portugal, if I wanted, I could play with eleven Brazilians. But there, I have to adapt to these rules”, he added.
