Patrícia Mamona concluded the triple jump at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA in eighth place. The event was won by Venezuelan defending champion and world record holder Yulimar Rojas, who thus revalidated the title and won the gold medal.

Patrícia Mamona finished with 14.29 meters as her best result, a mark reached on the fifth jump, tied with Jamaican Kimberly Williams in seventh.

Rojas finished with 15.47 meters, the best mark of the year, ahead of Jamaican Shanieka Ricketts (14.89), who thus won the silver medal, and North American Tori Franklin (14.72). , the bronze.

Mamona, who suffers from physical back problems, equaled the eighth place obtained at Doha-2019.

“With the adrenaline, I forgot the pain a bit and thought I would have to jump a lot, but it turned out that my form was not at its peak. Not being at my best, I equaled my best placing, so I hope to do better when I’m at 100%,” said the athlete.
