Perhaps, but the practice that has become popular in American tech is gaining supporters among European companies and workers, especially in sectors where it is more difficult to hire and retain workers. In Portugal it is already practiced and experts indicate that the future of work also passes through here. But beware: this “freedom of rest” has associated risks and they are not reserved for companies.
The concept is not new, but it has gained momentum in recent years, as the difficulties in recruiting and retaining qualified talent intensify in highly competitive sectors such as information technology or the financial field. . Companies have started to add the possibility of unlimited paid time off to the benefits package offered to workers.
