These are happy memories brought back to people by the singer’s relatives last Saturday, June 11, at the Municipal Complex of Saint-Denis-De La Bouteillerie, in Kamouraska. At the entrance, we could see a montage of articles relating the life and career of Paolo Noël, as well as the book he published and the awards he obtained during his existence. “Not everyone knows everything he did,” said his widow, Diane Bolduc-Noël. I have had beautiful testimonies from people who love us. It did me good to be offered by all these beautiful people. It really touched me. I already felt that I was not abandoned, that people were there for me. She spoke during the ceremony to greet the one who happily shared her existence.
Help the Alzheimer Society
Diane recalled that it was important to donate to the Alzheimer Society, which helps people with this terrible disease affecting memory (which killed the singer) and their caregivers. “It doesn’t just affect one person, but an entire family.”
For Paolo, Diane believes it was around 10 years ago when he fell off a scaffold and crashed to the ground below his boat. “He lost his balance, fell, knocked himself unconscious.”

A loving community
The community showed the widow their love for her and for the deceased during the ceremony. “We are part of the community after so many years! My son, Constantino, worked here. His wife, Pascale, is a representative in beauty products here, so everyone knows her, and it works, her business! We are very present in the community.
The mayor recently phoned the widow. “She said to me: ‘I want to ask you to have made Saint-Denis-De La Bouteillerie known. It was when you came here that people started talking about it.
A grateful grandson
The son of their daughter Vanessa, Blue, who has a career as a rapper, a touching testimony offered in recognition. “Since he was very small, he has been writing poems”, Diane trusts. She is very proud of the path he has traveled. “He had major drug problems, and he came to settle in the area to get away from the city and its dangers. His grandpa and I have taken care of him a lot in the last five years. And in Kamouraska, there is a program that helps young people with difficulty, which has enabled Blue to do better.
A new chapter
With the farewell to her tender husband, Diane has just closed a chapter of her life. What awaits him next? “I really like my house and I’m comfortable there, but I don’t want to stay there. Winter is too much for being alone. It’s big too. I would like to sell it and build myself a smaller house, or set up a trailer next door. I also have land for sale; I have 10 acres of land. I want to get rid of all that. I would like to stay in Saint-Denis-De La Bouteillerie, but in a smaller place.
