There is good news and bad news for the Portuguese pilots. Fuel prices are going in opposite directions this week: According to a source in the sector contacted by Multinews, among the main national oil companies, “the orientation is for a drop in the price of gasoline up to 4 cents per litre. Conversely, diesel should be 6 cents more expensive.
Own-brand service stations – which normally operate alongside hypermarkets – follow the trend and report “a decrease of 0.0418 euros for petrol and an increase of 0.0514 euros for diesel” , said another source.
Taking these movements into account, the government has determined an additional FAI reduction of 1.2 cents on petrol and 0.4 cents on diesel from this Monday, which will result in an alleviation of the tax burden, informed the Ministry of Finance.
Since the beginning of the year, the price of gasoline has increased 19 times and has fallen only five times, indicates the DGEG. For diesel, there have been 17 highs and 6 lows since January.
