
Airbus is looking for potential customers to take over rejected orders from Qatar Airways and Aeroflot, as well as the respective slots on the production line.
The causes of non-delivery are different. Qatar has said it does not want to receive planes until the manufacturer resolves paint problems on planes, while Russia’s Aeroflot is being sanctioned after its country invaded Ukraine.
According to information obtained from the German site AERO.deLufthansa appears as a serious candidate in take such orders (or at least the crafting slots)which could help solve a problem of availability of the German flag carrier’s fleet, mainly due to delays in the Boeing 777X project.
Lufthansa currently operates 18 A350-900s, and two more leased aircraft are about to be activated. However, Lufthansa has not yet ordered the larger version, the A350-1000.
