During the current season, Sporting and SC Braga had already faced each other for the League and the League Cup and met again this Wednesday, this time in a meeting concerning the semi-final first leg of the Cup of female Portugal.
Despite the balance of forces, Sporting took a significant advantage for the return match which will take place in three weeks in Braga.
The lionesses took the lead at the break (44 minutes), on a shot from Diana Silva who suffered a deflection from an opponent, extending the advantage in the second half by Chandra Davidson, at 66. After this goal, obtained on a rebound after a clearance attempt by Patrícia Morais, the SC Braga goalkeeper was injured and her replacement, Babi Marques, was also beaten at 75′ on a punch out of her own goal.
The ball passed within reach of Bruna Lourenço, who headed straight for the 3-0 final, which served as a comfortable differential between the two teams in the middle of the meeting.
In the other semi-final, also played this afternoon, Famalicão also beat Amora 3-0.
