Morocco obtained, on Tuesday, the qualification for the final phase of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This will be the Moroccans’ second consecutive appearance and the sixth in history.
After a 1-1 draw in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Moroccan team confirmed their home bias and beat the Congolese 4-1 in Casablanca.
Two goals from Azzedine Ounahi (21′ and 54′), one from Tarik Tissoudali (45+7′) and another from Achraf Hakimi (69′) sealed the big victory for Vahid Halilhodzic’s team against DR Congo (Chancel Mbemba was titular), reduced to 77′ by Ben Ngita.
Tunisia (sixth presence) will also be in Qatar, after the second leg against Mali did not start, the Tunisians winning 1-0 in Bamako in the first leg.
