It is without appeal or aggravation that Fonte do Bastardo beat Sporting (3-0), in a match referring to the semi-finals of the national volleyball championship, played this Saturday evening, at the João Rocha pavilion, in Lisbon. .
After overcoming the slippage of last Sunday, against Benfica, for the Portuguese Cup, the Azores team showed Alvalade that they had their sights set on the title and, in the first set, they triumphed without a doubt (25-18).
The second half was much more balanced and at one point leaned completely towards Sporting. The lions reached the 24th point with an advantage of two, they had everything to equalize, but the reaction of Fonte do Bastardo was excellent and the islanders ended up increasing the score (27-25).
The way they lost the second set proved decisive for Sporting… in the third set. The leonine emblem broke emotionally, a factor used by the Azoreans to close the game (25-22).
In this way, Sporting will have to win at least one of the next two games in the Azores (Friday 1, at 8 p.m. and Sunday 3, at 4 p.m.), to prevent Fonte do Bastardo from stamping the passport for the Championship play-off final.
