Trae Young scored 45 points in the Hawks’ 117-11 triumph over the Knicks in New York. It was the first game at Madison Square Garden for the young baseman who, last season, was instrumental in the victory of the Atlanta team against the New Yorkers in the first round of the play-offs.
Bogdan Bogdanovic added 32 points to ensure an important victory for the Hawks (36 wins, 36 losses), who remain in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, the last which gives access to the play-in, a phase which determines the last places for the play offs.
The Knicks (30w, 42l), who had Alec Burks (21 points) as top scorer, are in 12th place, still in the running for a play-in spot.
The Golden State Warriors, without the injured Stephen Curry, suffered a third straight loss to the Orlando Magic, the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Chicago Bulls on the return of Giannis Antetokounmpo (25 points, 17 rebounds) after an injury to the knee.
