Last Monday (14), the Municipal Health Department (SMS) received from the Southwest Regional Health Center (NRS), an organ of the Bahia State Health Department (Sesab), eight thousand doses intended for the booster vaccination of adults. Of this total, 5,268 were used in health facilities which vaccinated 3,300 people in urban areas and 1,968 in rural areas.
Another 1,932 doses were used in vaccination actions with the booster dose at fixed points for pedestrians. On Tuesday (16), 756 were vaccinated at the Fainor sports ground; 656 at Galeria 2 Julho, yesterday, and another 520 people at Van da Vacina, in Praça Gerson Sales, this Thursday (17).
In total, in just three days, SMS vaccination teams vaccinated 7,200 adults with the 3rd dose.
This Friday (18), a replacement of a thousand doses will be received and, in the early morning, eight health facilities will be replenished, with 155 doses each, to continue vaccination with the 3rd dose of the adult public. In addition, there will be pre-scheduled booster vaccinations in rural areas, in Cercadinho, Capinal, Vereda, São João da Vitória, Roseira and the area covered by Cae II Rural.
The vaccination coordinator, Érica Suzart, believes that with the advancement of vaccination, Brazil is witnessing a less alarming scenario. “We have a drop in the incidence of new cases and the number of deaths, which underlines the importance of vaccination. It is therefore necessary to complete the vaccination schedule with the booster dose. We invite everyone, aged over the age of 18, to ask the Health Units to be vaccinated and increase their immunity against Covid-19”, underlined the coordinator.
