The Benfica Foundation will welcome four Ukrainian children who were enrolled in football schools in Kiev and Kharkiv.
On social media, the eagles welcomed Oleskii, 7, Myron, 8, Nikita, 12, and Illia, 13. The children arrive in Portugal due to the armed conflict in Ukraine, after the Russian invasion. .
Benfica president Rui Costa gave gifts to the little footballers, such as school supplies, tennis, a mobile phone and “merchandising” items, scarves, a hat and a ball.
Benfica will guarantee, with the help of the Portuguese state, the adaptation to the country and in the schools of the reds. Children will also receive monthly support for one year.
