Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has created all kinds of embarrassment for athletes in that country. The most recent was at the Fafe Rally.
This Tuesday, the organization revealed that Nikolay Gryazin (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo) and Alexander Rzhevkin (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo) will not be able to participate in the opening race of the Championship because… nobody has provided them with tires. Despite racing under a neutral flag, the two pilots face a widespread boycott.
More luck was the compatriot Dmirty Feofanov (Ford Fiesta Rally3) who races with the Latvian license and, as such, managed to break this boycott. He will be the only Russian to participate in the race.
