The Juazeiro do Norte health department has taken steps to eliminate the vector that transmits diseases such as dengue, zika and chikungunya. The municipality has also expanded the offer to serve the population affected by arboviruses.
This Thursday 3, at the Sentinel Unit, the follow-up of patients with arbovirus was launched to identify circular viruses in the municipality, thanks to the collection of serological tests.
The service is available from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., for patients previously referred by the Limoeiro Urgent Care Unit (UPA).
From tomorrow 4, at the Covid unit, which is in the Lagoa Seca neighborhood, there will be an outpatient service for people with arboviruses, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For patients who have joint pain and need observation, beds are available on site.
The population that presents symptoms of chikungunya, dengue and zika until the third day should request these units. After the 7th day, the orientation is for people who have received the notification of the case to go to Lacm to perform the serology.
The increase in the number of cases of these arboviruses is directly linked to the wide spread of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The Secretariat issues an alert for preventive care in vector-breeding settings.
